Yes. many years ago, I went to an "Emerson, Lake, & Palmer" concert just to see "The James Gang" open the show. FYI ... Joe Walsh was the guitarist for the James Gang back in the day and well worth a listen today.

I went to see Mary Chapin Carpenter a while back at Northrop in Mpls and though I love her, I was actually more excited about seeing her opening act The Mavericks.

no....most of the concerts I went to... most of the opening bands i never heard of or they just plain suck
