That all depends. I think most law enforcement agencies try to treat such victims with care and consideration. However, they are also required to gather the facts of the case, and often this information is only available from the victim.

You seem to be assuming that the legal system harms women who are victims of sexual violence. What about the women who see their attackers tossed in jail (as they should be)? Are those women still "victims twice over" ?
Give me a break.

Its up to the defense of the person who did the raping to give the best defense possible, even if they know hes guilty. To do that, the victim is usually put through the ringer about what she was doing there, what she was wearing, her personal life, how often she has sex, etc.

My 13 yr.old was Raped by a 37 yr.old Larry Janis.I filed charges with the state police in NY.They said in the end that it would be her word against his. What bullshiit! I want a death penalty for it,if the woman faultily accuses she should be charged with his death.Otherwise kill the bastards and the pedophiles too.

i think that sometimes they are because the system is so messed up,and the rapist don't get any jail time for what they have done.
