I have a Police Caution dating back 7 years, for possession of a small amount of cannabis (while I was suffering from cancer).

My new company wants me to go to the US on business occassionally (they don't know about my caustion)

I have an interview booked in the US embassy in Jan 07. I have got my subject access report back from the Police - and it is blank.

Anyone else neen in a similar siuation, and how long did it take after he Embassy interview to get the visa?

You were cautioned, you weren't prosecuted, you weren't found guilty. Just cautioned. That is not a conviction, that's why there's nothing on your police report. Your police report would contain anything that was of interest.

I was cautioned as a kid, after that I passed a number of different evaluations by people who had full access to all records (even went back to my secondary school to interview people there). No problems.

By the way, glad you survived the cancer.

my husband had an interview in January. He said he wanted to travel to America in November. They kept the passport and returned it by courier a week later with the visa attatched from what I remember. Only thing was the visa was only valid until the September, we had luckily changed our plans to go in April anyway. Not sure if the visa you need will be the same though as you are going for work. Also when you get there due to the fact you have this visa thing you need to go to a special room and be seen by security. My husband was the second one to be seen and I was waiting 45 mins for him to come through. My advice is get off the plane asap and run to the front of the queue. The last people must have had a really long wait.

A caution is just a warning and doesn't go on your record so there is nothing for the American authorities to find so you should have no problems, sorry don't know how long it will take for your visa to come through.
Good luck with the new job and enjoy your trips to the states.

as long as he has valid H1B visa stamped on the passport, it really is going to be high quality. And apart from his employment, you are able to also petition him. even although both will take a even as. good luck!

If the US Embassy finds out, you will never get a visa. and they will report it to your company, and tell them why.
If you they miss it at first and they find out WHILE you are in the US you will get arrested and may end up in a secret or not-so-secret prison like Guantanamo Bay.
