Domestic oil resources are tapped not by the Republicans, but by the oil companies. Don't say that the oil companies answer to the Republicans- they answer to me- the shareholder- and the board of directors. They could give a whit about what party is in power- the current market trend is tight supply, high demand. Econ 101. The price will tend to remain high until demand slows, or supplies are more productive, etc. Basic stuff.

The Democrats have no ideas of their own, so they just resort to scare tactics. "The Republicans will take away your Social Security. The Republicans will invade your privacy, tap your phone, and video tape you in your own bedroom. The Republicans will drive the cost of gasoline to $4.50 a gallon."
When you have an idea of how to make the country better, let us know. If all you have is, "We'll do it better...but we can't say just how," just go away and stop whining.
