Click Start > Control Panel > add or Remove Programs > scroll down and find Internet Explorer 7 and click on it to highlight it and give you the remove option and click Remove. It will automatically revert back to your previous version of Internet Explorer.

You always want to keep the latest versions and updates with Microsoft. I have tested all the IE 7 beta. An I installed the final version in two computers that run Micrsosoft XP Prof.

The reason why IE7 is slow, is due to the added security they installed. Phishing scan of webpages is slowing down your computer an ability to bring up new webpages quick.

Just look for the tray at the bottom of your screen when you are in IE7. The tray above where all your icons are. You will see a white square box with a yellow ball with "!". Right click on that ball and turn off the :Phishing scanner. This is a scan to verify that the webpages you open are valid and not a rogue webpage.

You will see a difference. I turned this security off as I don't have any use for it. Good for people who do on-line banking or purchase items on the internet with their credit card.

This shibbles happened to me too...Internet Explorer 7 removes your temporary internet files folder from your user account and hides it somewhere else after renaming it. I think Microsoft did this so they can "spy" on you. By moving around your temporary Internet files folder spyware in that folder won't be found by "cleanup" programs. Therefore, the spyware slows down your computer.

Here is what you need to do. Go to add/remove programs and then uninstall Windows Internet Explorer 7. Then insert your Microsoft Windows Installation CD and click Install Only Optional Components. Then uncheck everything except Internet Explorer...so Internet Explorer is the ONLY thing checked. Then intall Internet Explorer 6. It will put things back to normal.

Internet Explorer 7 sucks the big one...I think it is just a way for Microsoft to keep tabs non-genuine copies of Microsoft products and the like.

OK so here is how you do it -

start->control panel->add remove programs->at the top check "show updates" radio box->scroll down in the list->you will see IE7 listed, uninstall that, restart and you are on IE6

Thanks for a good question ... OK, a great question. I have IE7 also and it is a little slow, but seems to be getting better. There should be updates out soon tho so don't give up too soon. I am waiting on some of my dial up computers to see how this works out before I put them on IE7. Your question helped me find out how to uninstall IE7 and go back to IE6 if this doesn't improve.

In case you had installed IE7beta 1 (the exclusive review of which we did here) and now are sick of it (in which case i might add you are not a minority) or if you want to make use of windows update(Windows Update can't seem to properly render on IE7beta1) then here is a small easy way for you to uninstall IE7 and get back to good old IE6 (hmm OK remove that good part )

Needless to say that if you go to add remove program you won't see anything. You go to add/remove windows components again there is option to completely uninstall IE but not just IE7.

Less drastic alternative than the others mentioned...
You could download and install Firefox 2.0 (or Opera) and use it for awhile as your primary Web browser while you wait for any updates/patches to IE 7 to be pushed out by Microsoft.

Good luck.

Do a system restore on your computer. Restore your computer back to the date before
you downloaded IE7. This should restore IE 6 unless Microsoft has some special hack
that won't let you change anything... which wouldn't suprise me.

Read this carefully and fully before you install IE7.

You should be able to return to IE6 by doing this,

Do a system restore on your computer. Restore your computer back to the date before you

let you change anything... which wouldn't suprise me.

Just keep in mind that Microsoft wants you to believe IE7 is leading edge technology. Actually
it is bleeding edge technology.

Next month they will try to force you to download and install IE7 if you have automatic updates
turned on.

At least they will let you block this,

I am waiting until March 07 before I update to IE7.

Microsoft does have a history of screwing things up for people.

I am using IE 7.But it is running alright. If u say u r having problems then it mu st be viruses or spy wares. U should try Yahoo! anti spy or other anti spyware softwares. But if u really want to uninstall IE 7 than u can do it from Add/Remove programs. :-)
