India´s 1st (and only) tournament win under captaincy of Ganguly came in year 2002 against England, in England. It was also one of the greatest wins. Chasing 326, India were 145 for 5 in 24 overs at one stage. Then, Yuvraj and Kaif put on a great partnership of 121 runs. Yuvraj scored 69 off 63 balls, whereas Kaif remained not-out till the end, he scored 83* off 75 balls. And India scampered home with 2 wickets in hand and 3 balls to go. Kaif also won the MOM award.
Note: By the time, it was also the record for chasing Highest-Total in ODIs.

The first tournament India won under the captaincy was the Nat West series 2002.
In the final played at Lords on 13.07.2002, India beat England by 2 wickets and won the 2002 Nat West Trophy.
I response to England's total of 325 for 5 wickets in 50 overs,
India scored 326 for 8 wickets in 49.3 overs and won the tournment.
Mohd. Kaif was the top scorer for India. He scored 87 runs and remained not out. Other highest scorers were Yuvaraj Singh - 69 runs and Ganguly 60 runs..

I think it is natwest series.In that series INDIA played with 75% aggregationi.e., they beat england in 1 match,lost1&no result1.But against srilanka they won all the three matches.This series took place in the year 2001.
