Would a male third party candidate have a better chance of winning? Would you change your party to avoid voting for a woman? Just a hypothetical question, no specific candidates in mind.

No and no. I would surely hope that at this point people are warming up to the idea of having a female leader. Other countries have and are doing just fine.

At this time, I'd say that a 3rd party male would have a better chance -- UNFORTUNATELY. Call me cynical, but I can just imagine the negative campaign ads. "What will happen when she gets her period?" "A woman wouldn't be able to stomach a war." There was a woman running for senate a few years ago who had young twins. Her male opponent said she couldn't properly handle her position in the senate with 2 young children!

I would LOVE to vote for a qualified female candidate. I'd even consider voting for a woman whose views did not represent mine as long as they were a good person who would represent our country well.

Just don't hold your breath that BOTH parties will nominate women anytime soon!

I would vote for the best person for the job, regardless of gender, religion, race or sexual orientation.

It would be the person whose experience and ideas would be best for the country, in my personal opinion. That is how any candidate wins my vote, by showing me what they will do to improve things and deal with real issues in my city/district/state or the country as a whole.

I really don't think so. Yes there are still people out there who believe a women's places is in the home. But for the most part people are past that issue.

Give men credit. Both Republicans and Democrats would, for the msot part, stay with their parties.

I would vote for whoever I thought would be the best president for our country no matter what gender this person would be.
