OKay this is going to sound silly but I am just wondering for my own knowledge.....I am 9 weeks pregnant....we are trying to figure out when I concieved. They are pretty sure of Sept 11. When would we have had to had sex? I can tell when I ovulate as I get a menstral like cramping and I got that about 9pm on the 8th of Sept.

Also, a friend of mine is TTC and she said that she usually finishes her partner by hand at first and then they commit the actual act of intercourse..is this why she is having trouble...is there no sperm left after the first ejaculation?

Which of these dates would have likely led to the pregnancy? The 8-10 or the 2-3? We are doing a gender prediction thingy and they ask that.

You could very well have ovulated on the 8th, and conceived on the 8th or 9th, even the 10th. But, at least for me I get the pain right before I ovulate, so you very well could have ovulated on the 9th or 10th, and conceived on the 11th.

As far as your friend goes I would say it lowers the chances of conceiving to do that.

Here is the best due date calculator I have found on the net.....

http://www.intmed.mcw.edu/clincalc/pregnancy.html

It tells you possible conception date (although it estimates oculation on the 14th day)

You could have had sex 5-7 days before ovulation and gotten pregnant. The MYTH is that the closer you have sex to ovulation the more of a chance for a boy and the further away from ovulation the better chance for a girl.

Your friend is absolutely affecting their chances of getting pregnant by having him ejaculate before having sex. A man's body has trouble building his sperm count back up that quickly! There is probably sperm but his count his probably much lower.

You may never know exactly when you conceived. But sounds to me it happened when you had the pain. Tell your friend not too worry there is plenty of semen cos the bloke just makes more of it!!! It never runs out lol.
