Yes, it should be illegal everywhere as far as I'm concerned. Consider what you see other drivers doing when they are on the road. I see people putting on makeup, eating, drinking, smoking a cigarette, talking on the cell, and they try to do too many things of those things at one time when driving. It's dangerous; I don't care if one is the most or the least experienced driver in the world.

There are too many people on the road that don't obey the laws of driving and it's those people who are going to cause accidents. I see too many careless mistakes because others want to get where they are going. So many of us get in a hurry to where we need to be and when we are talking on the cell phone or doing other things while driving, we are not going to have as quick a reflex in knowing what we need to do. Anything can happen to anybody when we fail to look at the road and not pay attention to everything around us when we are driving. Even if we fail to look for a second in that second something horrible could happen. It's too important for the health of everyone who drives to either pull off to the side of the road when talking on the cell phone or get a hands free unit.

Yes it should, and it already is in Great Britain. There is no way you can drive safely while holding a phone to your ear and conducting a conversation. It takes one hand off the wheel and distracts you from concentrating on the road. Even handsfree calls are distracting. Yuo could get into an argument over the phone, get angry and your driving will be become more dangereous and aggresive. I cannot think of a single reason to use a phone while driving, it has been proved to be the cause of accidents in the UK, which is why it was banned. The law is very ineffective though, I still see many people using phones every time I go out.

YES!! People drive bad as it is, like they need a phone to their ear! No one knows what a turn signal is, they get on your a$$ cause they think your not going fast enough, talking on the phone while driving is just a big distraction from paying attention to what they are doing..Saw a man just yesterday pulled off the highway so he could talk on the phone. Smart man! Think it is ok if the passenger is on the phone, NOT the driver!!! It's just stupid!

I believe it already is in Arkansas but nobody pays any attention. I have even seen cops talking on thier phones. It really is very distracting and I think it is a law that should be enforced. Good Luck

yes it should be, I saw on the news that it is in the top ten of distracting causes of automobile accidents along with text messaging. This can be verified by contacting insurance web sites or even calling for statistics. Tell them about your essay they will be happy to help

Yes it should. I way on some show about breaking myths that driving while talking on your cell phone is more dangerous than driving drunk. And the freaky part it, you can always stop talking on your cell phone, or never accept/make a call, but you can't stop being drunk like that.

Yes, it should. You need to pay attetion to the traffic around you. It is not that hard to park to talk. A young man was just killed here in my home town by a 17 yr. old who was downloading ringtones and hit him. Now she has her whole life to live with the fact that she killed a person. And his family has to live without him due to the fact she was playing with her cell phone.

I don't think that it should be illegal. I can talk on my phone and pay attention to the road at the same time. I think that is just another way to control humans. Say you can have phones but now you can't use them.

NO, not until it is illegal to eat and drink while driving, which causes more distraction than cell phones (I believe there are stats to support this). But then you'd have to make fast food illegal- never gonna happen. Also, hands-free technology like bluetooth headsets make it perfectly safe to drive while talking...

YEAH DEFO......

Some people are worse drivers than others and can't do two things at once (mainly men lol)

I think bluetooth should come as standard with every phone then people have no excuse for not using it.
