Yes i would forgive he /she even if it was not sincere. But when they said they were sorry and i knew it was not heart felt from them.My feelings of forgiveness would be real and therefore hoping they would see this and think on it later and next time be real,I am to trusting though and it has been a taken advantage of many times.

I think sometimes you just gotta be the bigger person. I mean, if I knew they were apologizing, but, they were not really sorry, I would assume that they were just going thru the motions. I would not let it ruin my day. You can't let other people have that much control of who you are or how you feel. I would not fool myself into believing that they really are sorry when I know that its a "fake" apology. I would just say that they made a lame attempt to apologize and let it go at that. Not to say that I would forgive them, but, I would forget it. People only control the part of you that you let them.
What I'm trying to say in all this rambling is....Let it go. He/she is not worth the effort with a fake apology. Forget it and move on. Life is too short!

If i dont beleive that he/she is being sincere when he/she apologizes to me, then i would just ask them straight, you know...do you really mean that n so on..and then if the conversation were to get deeper, i´d explain why i feel like they arent really meaning it and then dependin on their answer to that, i guess i´d know if the apology was a sincere one..or not. If so, then yeah i´d forgive n forget, but if it wasnt, ...well, i´d like to say im a better person and i would still let it slide..but you know there´s nothin i hate more than being lied to..so a person just sayin sorry to me, thinkin that they´re doin me a favour by giving me closure..is just not okay in my book...so i guess..i would be mad at first, but i mean if its somebody i care about..im just gonna have to accept their ways and then just forget bout whatever happened, cuz thatz just what you gotta do sometimes when it comes to the people you love. Nobody´s perfect.

Whether the person means it or not isnt what is important. Depending if you're the type of person that needs a sincere apology to forgive/forget. I personally forgive people because in order for me to be forgiven I have to forgive.

Nope. Apologies should come from the heart. I would never apologize if I didn't mean it. I would hope out of respect for each other the apologies would be sincere.

I am the worst person in the world when it comes to accepting apologizes. I can hold a grudge like there is no tomorrow.

if you forgive someone....you feel that you have the power to do so....but that means that you condemned them in the first place and you do not have the power to condemd

so just let things be....in time these people will float into and out of your life

true friends need not to say " I forgive..."

If i know they don't really mean it.... i'll just say...yeah whatever... and predict they'll do it again sometime in the near future.... and maybe this time i'll be prepared and so that i can jump on their face and say Aha!...-and keep on saying things .......
