First check your fuse and bulbs. If all is well then your wire harness connector is probably loose or off the transmission reverse switch. May also have a broken wire or poor ground too!

Well you will need to clarify your question. But I'll try and answer anyway. If by no reverse you mean there's not white light on both sides of rear, then probably one of the lights was replaced. If i remember properly Astras ship with only on reverse light being the right side for LHS drive cars (US/Germany.. most of the world) and the opposite (left side on RHS cars - UK/Greece/India...) The same space is usually used by the rear fog light on the opposing side. So if you happen to break one side (the side with the reverse), and buy a "yard" replacement (coming from different region) you may end up two rear fogs, and no reverse. In this case, you need to buy the appropriate part, and have it installed, re-instating the reverse light into action.

If, however, above is not the case, and you're just griping about a problem replacing a bulb or a fuse... well good luck with that... it's usually quite HARD!

turn on the ignition - but don`t start the car - open the bonnet. on the right of the engine bay is the gear box - on the front at the top is a switch(probably a 19mm nut with a white plastic top) there will be a black wiring harness and connector plugged into it - disconnect this turn it to face you - you will see two metal connectors inside this - you will need to bridge these with something metal - then either get someone to check or check yourself if the reverse lights are working if they are its the switch if not it could be the fuse or bulbs - to replace switch simply undo with deep 19mm socket or open spanner - be careful not to lose and make sure to refit the washer that on it

a greater heavier vehicle like the Astra with a a million.4 prevalent engine in made to look sporty with SXi badges will no longer entice interest from people who make overall performance enhancements once you could in basic terms get one with a greater engine.

might be your switch which is located on the top of the gearbox to the right hand side of the main engine, the switch looks similar to a spark plug and has a couple of wires coming out of it, but don`t take it out and drive it because you will loose all of your gearbox oil and then you will be in for a really large bill.

both bulbs have gone(very unlikley)or the reverse light switch has packed up, or the wires have came off.

Bulb could be out . Switch could be bad. Wire could be shorted out. Groung wire could not be making contact. These are typical things to look for. Fuse could be blown.
