Hamsters will eat their babies if there is not enough space or food for the entire family. They also eat their young if a predator is seriously threatening them. That way the predator loses the battle.
Hamsters do not hatch babies. Their babies are born alive and not in eggs. Here is the information included in my source list, "Pregnancy lasts only 15 1/2-16 days. Before delivery, the female becomes restless and usually discharges a small amount of blood from her vulva. Litters usually range from 5 to 10 pups. The [p]ups are born hairless, with ears and eyes closed. They do, however, have their front teeth (the incisors) at birth."
Take care,
Troy

Holy cow! I didn't know that! - However, birds will smash their own eggs or smother their young if their environment it too small and/or they feel there is not enough food to go around.
You may have to separate to male from the female and her young. In most cases males are usually free to roam after mating when they can't, their offspring become competition for food and the female's attention.
