Excellent example. Truly, an excellent example.

I'm sure you also remember the idiotic case of the person who bought a coffee at the drive-thru, put the paper cup, full of HOT coffee, in her lap - and drove away (extremely intelligent move). The cup inevitably spilled on her crotch - she sued McDonald's - AND WON.

Other indications that the number of lawyers exceed any real need are the television and radio ads aimed at alleged injury victims - anything from accidents to remotely possible, work related, perceived illnesses or injuries.

Unfortunately, I don't see this trend of constantly finding someone else to blame for our own actions is going to end soon - not as long as the fox is guarding the hen house - and there are deep pockets to be found that hesitate to defend themselves in court because of the possible negative effects on their corporate image.

You know the lawyers will use the Goliath vs. David strategy.

Yep. The reason California has the most lawyers and Texas has the most rattlesnakes is that Texas got first pick.

No it is an indication that the US has gotten too stupid when a judge and/or jury would allow such a lawsuit to be successful.

Maybe...but I think it also has to do with our lax legal process. That case show never get to court, any self-respecting judge would throw it out.

It is a societal issue. Too much accountability and no responsibility.

No. McDonalds should be held 'partially' liable for the quality of food they sell.
