Kerry`s statements just prove the how the Democrats are uninformed and have true contempt for the Military.
1.The Military is better educated than the general population.
2.The Military is all volunteer.
3. One can not join without a minimum of a high school degree.
4. 73.3 percent of the Enlisted Military have some college, 16.2 percent have an associate’s degree or equivalent semester hours, and 4.7 have a bachelor’s degree. 85 percent of officers have advanced degrees – 70.7 percent have master’s degrees, 12.1 percent have professional degrees and 2.5 percent have doctorate degrees.
5. Dropouts can not get in the Military. They have to go to Mc Donalds.
6. Bush out performed with better grades Kerry in the same school and Bush went further.
7. There is no draft that takes underachieving kids out of school and sends them to war, that was the Vietnam war.
8. Kerry was talking to students about education.
So Kerry`s joke doesn`t fit and he was stating what he believed. The "Joke" was damage control for the gullible.

The latest story I read is that Senator Kerry misspoke. He was supposed to say something to the effect of "If you're uneducated and mentally lazy you will go into Iraq (an insult directed at Dubya) but it came out as "If you're uneducated and mentally lazy you'll go to Iraq," which came out sounding like an insult directed at men and women in uniform.
For anyone who believes that our servicemen and women are uneducated, let me dispel that rumor before it festers into fact: The education level of enlisted members in the Armed Forces is at an all-time high. Not only do enlisted members get specialized training in their respective branches of the service, the vast majority of enlisted members also attend college on the side (most of the servicepeople that don't work shifts that prohibit attending college at night). Over half of the enlisted members in the Armed Forces have Associates Degrees, and over a third of enlisted members have Bachelors Degrees.
BOTTOM LINE: I'll put the brains of my brothers-and-sisters-in-arms against those of corporate America any day of the year. Not only are we intelligent, we are unified in purpose, we get things done, and we are able to accomplish what the naysayers believe is impossible. Our military is still #1 for a reason, and that reason is the people.

First for those who have not heard exactly what Kerry said - you can watch the video on CNN.com. See for yourself if there is anyway to misunderstand his statements. It was something to the effect of "Those who cannot navigate the education system will get stuck in Iraq". Seems pretty clear what he meant to me.
As for all the constant attacks on Bush's education, I am often reminded when Kerry, during his presidential campaign, called for bush to release his college transcript and test scores so that he could prove his intellectual superiority. Bush quickly complied. Upon seeing the results, Kerry refused to make his public. It was only after weeks of public outcry, that Kerry finally released so that all the world could see that he had faired worse in college than Bush. The libs seem to quickly forget this one.

It's almost time to do the 'snoopy dance'. Almost. John Kerry and the Democratic Party are gonna pay dearly for this one.
3 things to watch for:
#1. There's a group of military personnel, who are outraged at this, going to speak later today. .. . This will grow to monumental proportions.
#2. Democrat Harold Ford has just DEMANDED that John Kerry apologize. . .. . .This too, will grow monumentally.
#3. The news just reported that there is a 'movement' to call for his 'IMMEDIATE RESIGNATION'. Watch for this to grow 'MONUMENTALLY.
P.S. - The 'snoopy dance' is tipping your head up to the sky and dancing with glee. Probably going to be seen nationwide at the Republican Victory Celebration next week.
Thank you, John Kerry.

Yeah, I always have a dour look on my face when I make a joke, and I too, am always misunderstood.
Like the other day, I said to a group that the democrats want to sell us to the UN so that their pretend 'one world government' can be a reality. You can imagine my surprise at the horrible reaction of liberals when clearly, I was telling a knock knock joke that had nothing to do with them.

In 2004, the buffoons who ran the Democratic Party, and their voters in primary elections, gave us a political idiot named John Kerry and tried to convince us that he could be President. Christ. John Kerry. I remember the laughable excuse for a Senator strutting onto the stage of the Democratic National Convention, snapping that ridiculous salute and announcing he was "reporting for duty." What he should have been reporting for was the psyche ward at Bellevue . The incredibly stupid decision by Democrats to run John Kerry as their nominee in 2004 virtually guaranteed another four years of despotic rule by George W. Bush. Bush may well go down as the most corrupt President in U.S. history. He certainly is the most ignorant and the most devoid of morality. Yet John Kerry might have even outstripped Bush when it came to stupidity.

I couldn't understand the point he was attempting to make; my service must have dummied me up.
Once again Kerry plunges the knife farther into the back of the military---I'm surprised there is any blade left to sink, considering how the full might of the DNC has been pushing it.

Everyone is taking what he said out of content....when they start sending army recruiters to elite schools or privilege schools...then we can say our soldiers are well educated. Most soldiers go in because of the opportunity to GET A BETTER EDUCATION, because they didnt see it possible where they were living. Oh yeah, our soldiers enroll in the army with bachelor's, master's and PhD......the truth is that they go in to get those degrees...if they already had them (degrees) do you really think they would join the army....... What's ignorant is to believe that most of these soldiers are in there (the army) because they had big corporations knocking at their door because of their high education or being accepted to elite colleges because they were at the top of their classes... and they had soooooo many opportunities besides the army ...but they just chose to be in the army!! That's ignorance.......

What did he say? Elaborate don't just curse the guy out.
After reading a few post this is a knee jerk reaction to a mis quote. It was directed at Bush not the soldiers. But it was taken wrong. Mis-understood why dwell on a mis- understood statement. If you mis-understood it then say so.
