I applaud your effort, even in knowing nothing of the subject or quality of the work.
I also admire your bold attempt to seek "Help" though without details can't determine the kind of help you want"
Certainly,,,,and with no offense,,, If I were you, I'd edit any inquiry sentence that might read like the question does.

I've been a writer nearly all my life, and know first hand how difficult the process is.

"A Story" Define that. Can you expand it viabley to 300 pages for example?
Have you any experience at all in play writing?
Have you done a general WWW search for publishers, or examples of what is required to begin the process?

You need to have a complete command of the english language before anyone will take your writing seriously. That includes little things like spelling and grammar... things you obviously have yet to master.

Writing a book and writing a play are very different exercises.

What is it that you really want to achieve?
