Hi
You have 14 days to get pregnant but works like this.
7 days before your last period and 7 days after your las period, you need a calendar to be sure.
Example if your last period was the 14 you have to count since the 14 7 days before and 7 days after and the day you are fertile is the 8 and the next fertile day is the 20.
this proven one that the person with anxiety of having a baby is never pregnant when she wants it.
You need have a regular period to know the exact day of your ferrtility.

depends on when you're ovulating!! Most women have a 28 day cycle which means that they will ovulate 14 days after the 1st day of their last menstrual cycle!! If you have an irregular period, count 14 days after the first day that it starts or use can use ovulation calendars or kits. Have sex 10-15 days after your period, the first day of it, and/or every other day just in case you don't ovulate on the day you think you should. Check out this site to see when you should ovulate. www.mymonthlycycles.com

"Your cycle" is the first day of your period until the next period.
Your period is day 1 and ovulation occurs somewhere in the middle. Not every woman ovulates on the 14th day of their cycle like the books say. Every woman is different.
The easiest sign that ovulation is approaching is eggwhite-like discharge.
A fabulous book that expalins everything completely indepth is Taking Chrage of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. There are many other ways to figure out when you ovulate and her book explains them all.

If you have a normal 28 day cycle then you should ovulate 14 days before your next period. Count back from your last to estimate your next fertile days. You can go onto babycenter.com and it has an ovultation charts that could help you.

approximately 14 days after your period if you are on a 28 day cycle. look for a mucus like discharge..almost looks like egg whites that means you are ovulating...sperm can live in your uterus for a couple of days so it doesn't necessarily mean you must have sex when you notice the milky discharge.
