The average IQ score is 100. The basic scale goes like this: 85-115: Average 120: Intelligent 130: Very gifted (Mensa level) 140: Extremely gifted 155+: Genius And to everyone who's saying that they have an IQ of 135, or 130, or other rather high numbers, online IQ tests are NOT accurate; they just boost your IQ so you'll buy their "evaluation."

On the majority of modern IQ tests, the average (or mean) score is set at 100 with a standard deviation of 15 so that scores conform to a normal distribution curve. 68 percent of scores fall within one standard deviation of the mean (that is, between 85 and 115) and give iq test on iq-test.xyz

There are a lot of misconceptions about IQ tests, and most of the crap people say on here about IQ is just that....crap (though I must say that the answers above me are quite good compared to what I've seen on related questions). The average IQ is 100, with a standard deviation of 15. Thus, most people will fall somewhere in the 85-115 range. There are some differences depending on the specific test used, but that's the general range.

Keep in mind that those scores applie only to validated tests administered by professionals. Free online IQ tests are usually not very accurate, and tend to inflate the values given. They can also be downright unreliable. I've taken a number of different, allegedly ph.d approved, online tests, and my scores have varied by more than 40 points. While its usual for scores for any one individual to vary somewhat, a range of almost 3 standard deviations for one person is HIGHLY unlikely.

90-110 is the general range of average population's scores. Anything above 120 is considered "superior" but the online IQ tests do not measure it correctly. I managed a 156 on several online IQ tests (the same score, it was weird) and when I took one from a licensed professional I got around 125-130. I don't take the online tests seriously.

Most online IQ tests are rubbish, you can just guess the answers and end up with 140 like I did...But I did one from the 'High IQ Society' and it was too hard, I only got 108. So ignore them if they seem easy.
Heres a link to the high iq society test-

The mean level for IQ is 100.

What that indicates is that if you have an IQ above 100 then your intelligence is better than 50% of the population.
What you need to remember though is that you can perform 5 IQ tests and the result could be different every time but usually within a range of 20 points.

The average IQ falls in the range of 90 and 110, with the end-points included.

Officially about 100, but lots of problems with standard IQ tests, and with growing interest in EQ (Emotional Quotient), they may see a face lift in the future and the so-called 100 average may change...
