This is my knowledge - If you have a PC with broadband, then get the USB that allows the ability of Wi Fi play with the DS at the comfort of your home . You can also go to www.nintendowifi.com and check for McDonalds hotspots in your area and play free without the hassle of your home.

Got to any Nintendo Wifi Hotspot and when you start you game just hit the option to play on Wifi and the rest is explained there.

visit the nintendo wifi webpage for hot spots. also if you have a wireless internet connection and your game is wifi compatible you can connect from there. If you just have a DSL connection you can buy the USB wireless connection to plug into your pc from the nintendo online store which is about $35 US dollars.
