My teenage daughter and I start and stop each month on the same day,and my 20 year old niece lived with us for awhile,and during that time her cycle was synchronized with ours too.
I remember hearing that this is a true phenomenon...but I do not recall why.

Here's one theory:
Women who work or live together tend to get their menstrual cycles in sync. That curious phenomenon known for years by scientists and many ordinary folk, has long been suspected as an indication that humans, like insects and some mammals, communicate subtly by sexual aromas known as pheromones.
