I need help. I dont know what to do?
hey guys
OK here goes. I come over to the USA on a HB2 working visa only valid for about 3 months I jumped the visa . I only got it to get into the country Cos i have a boyfriend here in the states We were suppose to get married asap but the lawyer said to wait cos it will be suspicious, My visa expired 8 months ago and still not married. I am getting worried. I hate being illegal and worry all the time. I miss my family and my friends back home. I talk to him about it and still nothing i do love him but i guess i have to take matters into my own hands. So i cant wait for him to marry me to get legal i think he is satisfied about the living arraingments and the fact that i am here now and feel no need for him to get married i think his selfish not to see my point of view in this..
How do i go about a backup plan? how do i get legal myself ? Any advise will be so much appreciated.

As much as I hate to say this....your in our country illegally. And no matter how you look at it...there is no love between the two of you. You wanted to be legal so you thought marriage would work. To bad there is so much changes going on for illiegal aliens in the US. Your marriage no matter what will look suspicious. You also have tons of questions and paperwork to do as well. Even if you do get to become legal here in the states you will STILL have to go back to your own country for a time before they will issue you your papers. Either way...you want to be legal...my first request would be to follow the laws of the land that you want to be a part of. You aren't so as far as I am concerened...don't get caught....you will get shipped back and you won't have the chance to come back.

Well, I think you are 100% right. You boyfriend could care less if you are legal or not, because he is getting exactly what he wants and anytime he wants to get rid of you, all he has to do is report you as being in the country illegal. Your best bet is to go to the embassy from your home country and let them know you are here on an expired visa. You can try to get another visa, but given that you have been here eight months illegally you may get sent home. When you get the new visa (if you can that is) you need to tell your boyfriend that you now have a visa and if he is not wanting to get married you are going back home. That is your only leverage you can get, because right now with the expired visa he will only laugh at you if you said that.

if you already spoke with a lowyer about not getting married to fast why don't you just ask the lawyer about becomeing legel with out getting married. and also you came over on a working visa are you working and if you are can you take care of yourself without him if not then you need to go back to where you can take care of yourself nosense in being legal if you need him to care for you

You are so nonchalant about defrauding the Americans and their immigration control procedures. It is like some game for you, I think. So first game did not work, you are wanting a new game to make yourself legal (and it is your boyfriend that you think is selfish?). Even to an outsider, your mentality is offensive.

Go home. You were lied to and you are acting illegally. Try playing by the rules and find a bf who does the same.
