Yes do I ever remember Ghostwatch. I'm sure Sarah Greene presented it with her husband. It was in a rural house and was a trailblazer for most haunted.
Ghost watch was set in a house and was a DRAMA the fact it was so well done at the time and so different is proved by the number of complaints to the BBC. Id say ghost watch has a cult status to everyone who watches remembers it. Whats that i can hear banging on my pipes...my house is haunted i must complain to the BBC!

OMG I watched it as a child and was absolutely terrified of being alone anywhere in the house for a long time afterwards.

What my mother was doing letting me watch it I don't know??!

I remember part of it was following a family who had a 'ghost' which used to make the banging sounds that radiators do, and the little girl had drawn a picture of it and it was a red and black and I could never forget the look of it for ages, thinking it would be in my house.

I remember at the end it became very farcicle with papers blowing all over the studio etc etc etc but for a child the damage was done!

Thanks for reminding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;o( I'll blame you if I live in years of terror again now LOL

I can remember it being very well made and spine-tingling. I'd love to see it again, but doubt that will happen- it got a lot of complaints for being too terrifying.

And a twenty year old man with a mental age of nine did kill himself after watching the show. He left a suicide note which said 'if there really are ghosts, I'll be one of them now.'

Yes, lots of complaints, unsure about the suicide though.

Complaints were utterly idiotic though, as when starting it clearly said on screen, "BBC Drama presents...". *Drama*, not real you dribbling idiots. :)
