I don't think they all do - I bet the percentages are no different from any other sport or profession.
I can think of many good professional footballers who have ended up on the scrap-heap after they retired. You don't have to look much further than George Best, Charlie George, Peter Osgood, Stan Bowles, etc., etc.

Its not all good pro's get good jobs when they are done. The ones that do,presumably, want to stay in football and feel they have a lot to offer. You will find that most who do, start with lower division clubs anyway.I wont ask Man City but Alf Ramsey didnt do too bad did he?!!!!

It's hard to top Anton Chigurh or The Terminator. How about Mel Gibson as William Wallace in Braveheart? :)

Players get coaching or analyst jobs after football because they are either knowledgeable i.e. Steve Young or charismatic i.e. Michael Irvin. But dont get it twisted though alot of athelets struggle after they retire.

You answered your own question. The reason why good players get top jobs, is because the ARE Good.
The public recognizes them and perhaps idolizes them/ Therefore it makes sense to have them employed in whatever capacity needed, like TV pundits, coaching, commentary, etc.

Well, it stands to reason that if they are the best in the game they have an understanding about the game that can be translated to either coaching or broadcasting. Further, people are interested in fooball (listening about and watching) more than they are interested in listening to and watching their favorite street sweepers... I think.
