Are you kidding?!!! There are several reasons they won't have nearly that bad of a season. 1.) The Colts have an easier schedule than last year. 2.) The Colts have about $44 million more to spend on players this year than last year. Last year, Grigson had hardly no money to work with. 3.) The Colts won't be an almost all rookie team like last year that started off against many of the top ranked defensive teams in the NFL. All of the healthy receivers besides Reggie and Avery were rookies and Avery was still essentially a rookie. 4.) The Colts offensive line, defensive line, and defensive secondary is much better than last year. The lines are a lot bigger and more powerful. That's going to help the Colts have a better running game on offense and do a better job of stopping the running game on defense. And the secondary is the best I've ever seen it. 5.) The Colts receiving squad is likely the fastest in the league. Almost all of them can run with the speed of Pierre Garcon that the Redskins paid $45 million for. That will be very hard to defend. 6.) The Colts knocked off the Texans at home in the final regular game of the season, preventing the Texans from retaining the #1 seed in the AFC. That says a lot when the Colts had nothing to gain from the win and the Texans lost home field advantage throughout the playoffs and a bye. 7.) The Texans have a much tougher schedule, having to play teams like the Patriots which the Colts don't have to. 8.) The Titans and Jags aren't on the same level as the Colts. The Titans did far better with Hasselbeck than Locker. And the Jags will struggle to even compete this season. They got lucky with an early win against the Colts. I can see the Colts doing as well as 13-3 with the likely losses coming against the 49ers, Seahawks and Broncos. All of the rest of the teams on their schedule they are stronger than, even the Texans. I think they'll have between 11 and 13 wins next season. They might potentially lose the Cincy game and maybe the away Houston game. The Colts will likely dominate the AFC South this year. So NFC West: 2-2 AFC South: 6-0 or at worst 4-2 AFC West: 3-1 losing only to the Broncos The Colts cobbled together a team with what little they had last year and was very inexperienced and trying all new systems. This team won't be cobbled together and will have exerience running those systems. All of these fans predicting bad records for the Colts will get surprised again. They didn't watch the moves the Colts made closely enough last year to understand that they would be good and they aren't watching them closely enough this year either. At receiver, they made a very good upgrade with Heyward-Bey over Avery, he's bigger and faster. Losing Freeney won't hurt at all, he wasn't working well in the 3-4 and was beyond his prime. LaRon Landry was an awesome upgrade at secondary to the defense. The added a good CB to play opposite of Vontae Davis. They added a veteran nose tackle to the defense. On the offensive line they added a great guy from the Lions to guard Luck's right side. He's part of the reason the Lions has the top offensive numbers for several years. And there's a number of others they've added too. And the teams competing with the Colts for these players were teams like the 49ers and Patriots. Those teams' front offices know their talent. Plus the Colts will have some great talent joining the active roster that was out injured last year like Josh Chapman, the former nose tackle for Alabama. That dude is a beast! I've seen him push back not just 1 or 2 guys, but even 3 offensive line guys all on his own. Then they've got Griff Whalen joining the active roster. If you saw him in preseason last year, he looked like a young Wes Welker. Was always open, never missed a past and got quite a bit of yardage after the catch.

Yes. The Patriots will beat the Colts this weekend. And I am not a Patriots fan. I say this because the Colts have been living fat off an easy division and easy schedule for the past 4 years. Any time Peyton faces a smart, disciplined defense he struggles. That little song and dance routine he does at the line of scrimmage doesn't fool good defenses. Look at his playoff performances the past 3 years against good defenses to see what I'm talking about.
Patriots will win by at least a touchdown.

The Pats have had Peyton's number for all but one game against him. That does not matter in this contest but the Colts receivers will not be allowed to run free, and they will be hit repeatedly by Harrison and his secondary mates. He was out last year when the Colts beat my Pats 40-21. The loss of Edgerrin James will allow the Pats to concentrate on stopping Manning from completing so many passes, and the extra DBs will give the Pats the "coverage sacks" despite a smaller number of rushers on the defense. Another fact that works against the Colts is their run defense, which is near the bottom of the league. If Dillon and Maroney can run and use up the clock, Manning will have to pass a lot more, leaving him susceptible to sacks and INTs......

to my knowledge the colts have one of the worst run defenses in the nfl. And the patriots have 2 pretty good running backs do expect them to put up some big yards and a couple of touchdowns. What makes New England very dangerous is that they can running several completly different offenses, and they are very good at attacking an opponets weakness. In the game against minnesota( who has the #1 run defense) NE barely ran the ball and passed the ball the whole game. New england defense is not great, but very solid with a couple of veterans. I dont really know, i say anyone of these teams have a good chance of winning. With the patriots rb's and defense i say they are the favorites to win.
