My daughter is in 6th (sixth) grade, and her teacher has just started having them read Murder on the Orient Express. She is in an excelerated classroom but isn't this a little much for an 11 year old...am I crazy in thinking so or is her teacher the crazy one?

I thought that this Agatha Christy story was great. I don't think that it is too much for an 11 yr. old. There is not a lot of gory detail. However, you are the one who knows your child's emotional level. So if you think that it is to much for her then you should speak to the teacher.
