One answer for you. Men's Ware House. You obviously have no idea how to put a good looking outfit together. If you go to a thrift store you will get out dated junk unless you really know what to look for. If you are like you sound not experienced at this then The Men's Ware house is what you need. Department stores are expensive and the people helping are not very good at it.
At the Mens Ware House they know how to match things and how to fit you. They can work with something you already have and add to it.
My first experience was with them back when it was C&R clothing. I was trying to match a jacket to some pants. The jacket was linnen. They took me in a direction I never thought about and put Black pants with it. It looked great and they added the correct shirt and tie. I shop there all the time and the prices and quality are very good. Places like Ross have poor quality. Nordstrom rack has good quality but sometimes not much help and sometimes too expensive. Plus I get 50 dollars back for every 500 I spend over time. Good place for work outfits or for casual ware also and formal ware.I sound like a comercial sorry. But they are very good. Old Navy is for children and Kohls and Mervyns have the absolute worse mens clothing I have ever seen. Their ok for women.

Thrift stores do have nice clothes but some of them are outdated (not all of them). My brother and his wife have 6 kids and they do shop at thrift stores. The kid's sizes are a wide range but they like to shop there because the clothes are already pre-washed so the kids will know how they'll fit after they wear them and wash them. You can try Wal-mart (very inexpensive), K-Mart, Target, and Sears for some less expensive alternatives (Sears isn't usually as cheap as the others, tho).

Try Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Value City, Gabriel Bros., ect...these are places that sell designer clothes for super cheap. They're good for if you're looking for dress clothes and such.
Since I'm a chick, I dont know the prices for suits and men's dress clothes, but I do know that I end up paying under $10 for my Express shirts, and maybe $20 for a pair of desigener jeans that I would normally find for $60-$70 at the mall.
Plus, you can find shoes at those stores also.

They have some nice things in thrift stores. We have a few in the city that I live in (FL, USA). It just takes time and a little looking. I have found things with the original tag still on them. Original price from Macy's at $100 I got it for $15.
It does not hurt just to go look.

I really like Old Navy, you can really find some good deals in there if you look around. For dressier clothing, I would suggest Kohl's (if you live near one). They usually have big sales.

my favourite stores are: H&M, Old Navy, Suzy Sheir, Smart Set, practically any outlet store, and somewhere like Wal-mart for the extras (socks, slippers, inexpensive p.j's, etc..)
