Good entertainment today is virtually non-existant.With dreadful comedy like Catherine Tate and Little London barely raising a laugh a series, here's MY idea of entertainment...Morecambe & Wise, The Two Ronnies, Les Dawson for TV comedy, The Goons, Round The Horne & The Navy Lark for radio comedy. Guns Of Navarone, The Posiedon Adventure & On Golden Pond for films. Popeye, Tom & Jerry & Top Cat for TV cartoons. The Generation Game, Take Your Pick and Double Your Money for game shows. Val Doonican, Petula Clark & Engelbert Humperdinck for singers. Listening to the pirates Radio London and Radio Caroline in the 1960s with some of the best music EVER known to man. Adverts like 'Keep Going Shell' or 'Get A Tiger In Your Tank' or 'Go To Work On An Egg' or 'Drink A Pint A Milk A Day' for TV adverts. Pop groups like The Dave Clark Five, Beatles, Stones, Moody Blues, Animals etc. Listening to Kenny Everett and Tony Blackburn on Radio London and my fave DJ Paul Kaye. Radio theme tunes like 'Beefeaters' (Tony Blackburn), 'A Touch Of Velvet,A Sting Of Brass (Dave Lee Travis), 'Holiday' (Noel Edmonds), 'Because They're Young' (Johnnie Walker), 'Town Talk' (Jimmy Young & Paul Kaye). Disc & Music Echo, Fab 208, NME, Pirate Radio. Fab 'PAMS' jingles..'Remember This Golden Classic' 'Radio London Sonowaltz (Big Lil) Theme tune', 'London,My Home Town' and 'Stay With The Fun,Whooppee,Hear All The Hits On Big L' etc. Hope that little lot helps with the nostalgia trip! Not bad for a 52 year old eh?!
