It shocks me how many posts I have seen this morning basically trying to valid the statements made by John Kerry by saying that it is true that the military is uneducated. These are the same people who have been claiming they support the troops. Are they showing their true stripes regarding their real opinions of the military with these posts? I fully expected liberals to side with John Kerry in not apologizing because this is standard operating procedure when one of their own makes a mistake, but the utter disrespect of the military intelligence level is just staggering. There is vast gulf of difference between opposition to the war and denigrating the fine men and women serving our country honorably.
This question does not regard John Kerry and his comments directly. If you wish to post on that I have another open question on that issue.

REPUBLICAN MUD PACKER: What an amusing tirade. Now do you care to try and actually answer the question posed?

Avery: I am not a republican, I am an independent. There are many posting tirades against military intelligence this morning. And your quote is incorrect. That is what he was supposed to say.
This is what he actually said:
"You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

ShanaJ: Again, the question is not about Mr. Kerry. It is related to posts I have been reading on Yahoo Answers this morning.

ShanaJ: If that is your opinion I salute you because it is the correct one. However, I challenge you to find a majority of liberals posting that opinion. The majority are defending Kerry in one form or another.

Here is some info for all the Liberal zombies that actually think Kerry is right.
According to figures, 99.9 percent of the enlisted forces have at least a high school education, 73.3 percent have some college, 16.2 percent have an associate’s degree or equivalent semester hours, and 4.7 have a bachelor’s degree.
What’s more, over 85 percent of field grade officers have advanced degrees – 70.7 percent have master’s degrees, 12.1 percent have professional degrees and 2.5 percent have doctorate degrees.
The military has a higher education rate than the civilian population and definately higher than the Liberals.

Posts this morning do not say the military is uneducated; this is another Republican smear.
Here's the text of the extremely lame joke that Kerry made, but botched by leaving out the word "us"
“Do you know where you end up if you don’t study, if you aren’t smart, if you’re intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush.”
This is all a fake controversy to divert from the real issues.

I think that liberals are stuck in the Vietnam Era, as they want to relive the hippie days and go to Woodstock. lol The fact is in the Vietnam Era you could get a college deferral to avoid the draft and if you couln't afford it you were drafted. It has NOTHING to do with now, and it just shows how out of touch with the everyday middle-class person, the Dems have become.
This is a volunteer army with a higher education level then the general population (Heritage). These people chose to join the military instead of going to college. They are not predominately inner-city youth that had "no alternatives".
Avery: The "us" changes nothing. Bush went to Yale and has an MBA, how exactly could that apply to him?

Hey there, don't lump liberals in the same category because of one man's stupid comments. I consider myself a liberal but I do have some conservative view points. I think what Kerry said was disrespectful and probably the dumbest statement I have ever heard. Please educate yourself and stop assuming everyone has the same view point, Liberal or conservative, he is an *** just like Bush.

I don't think soldiers are stupid. I think some of them are in the military because it is their ticket to higher education which is becoming more and more expensive. I also think that the administration who has put so many of our troops at risk of death, bodily injury, and mental injury is chock full of people who never once put on a uniform to defend our country. At least Kerry went to Vietnam!

Answering this question means stereotyping. Some of the point may be true for some for some time. Not necessarily all points will be true for all women all time. Hence, it is a good question but respect Woman as she is is the answer.

their liberal leader made a mistake and instead of admitting it they try to fix it . Most liberals have no idea what they are talking about and just go along with everyone else , it is a vicious cycle of stupidity
