Toe rings in India are to show the lady is married. They dont need socks!! They wear sandals or (chappals). It became a fashion item in England when all Indian clothes and jewellery took over the fashion market a while ago. The same thing applies to the row of earrings on the upper part of the ear and the nose ring or stud. They have all originated from India.

I have a toe ring that I've worn for over 10 years. It doesn't matter whether other people can see it or not, but it looks very pretty when I wear sandals. My toes are extremely cute.

They are good, but only in summer and only if you have pretty toes. But in saying that, some people with ugly toes might use toe rings to try and make them look more pretty!? It's possible, but I think they need to know that a good pedicure works better than some tacky market style jewellery.

What is wrong with toe rings? I have two that I have worn for five years. It is exactly the same as wearing rings on your fingers, and no my feet are not disgusting.

I like them but can't wear them due to the shape of my toes. Ornamentation is great! Toe rings are exotic.

For fun. I knew a lady who put her old wedding band on her toe so when she was mad at her ex-husband she would stomp on them. If it makes somebody feel good then heck why not. Have a great day.

i have one toe ring on both feet....i think i have nice looking feet and i think that toe rings just make them look even cuter!!!

I believe that this fad started in India where women wear all of their gold or jewellery as they are so poor that they can't leave their valuables in their homes due to the risk of theft.
