What you do is put your head down and study, i tell you i know it seems hard and its easy to say but i am a straight A student, i still get 2 chill out with mates, play football, cricket and work a part time job. I know it seems a bad thing 2 be a straight A student but its not. What you have to do is, sort out your time, you have to find out the recomended set amount of hours for your course, and add them all up for all your subjects.... and then fir that in to oyur timetable, if you cant sacrifice some chilling out time, unitl it all fits in, once you done that see how many hours you watch t.v and cut them down and use these hours to chill with mates, This way you have a social life, a straight A student and fun in your life.... if u need help or further guidance, i dont mind if u email me at docta_luv_me@hotmail.co.uk.
Gud Luck!

What helps me is that when an assignment is assigned and there's a week given to me, I do it the day it's assigned. I try not to procrastinate. I ask the teachers for better explanations if I don't understand something. Don't wait till your mother pressures you, don't stress out, but push yourself forward. I wish you the best of luck.

I started using this method; blame it on my obsession with studying at that point- it was my big exam, you know, those national ones.
6 months before the actual exam, i planned out my time table. i scheduled everything- what subjects i would be studying that day, for how many hours, what topics i am concentrating on. i try to limit my studying for 4 hours at one go before taking a break and continue if i must.
i made notes on each chapter of a book- after i have read and understood them. i talked to my teachers for those parts i dont understand. i used audio tapes and i talked to myself- talking aloud helps me to remember better- what sort of learner are you?
i sleep at about 10 pm- for maximum rest. i had a healthy diet and i ran once a week. i was taking 8 exams and i had all As. :)
but you have to want those straight As- not your mother. if you want it, going through all these would be more satisfying than doing it for your mom.
do it for you.

Study. I also found that it is easier to retain information when you study before going to sleep. Also, ask your teachers if there is any extra credit work that you can do to help your grade.

You cannot force yourself to remember things. All you can do is learning how to work. Check for "Tony Buzan" books, you learn how to learn.

do all your assignments, try and get ahead early by doing them as early as possible, show up and participate in class, and flirt with your teachers...
