My husband is extremely emotionally abusive and has on occassion been physically abusive. He also has a drug problem. Do you know if women's shelters help with these situations and what assistance do they offer. I have a very good job and can provide for me and my children on my own but I do not have the funds necessary to move. Do they help with moving cost?

Usually there must be one of the two things you mentioned secondarily, i.e. physical abuse or drug abuse in the home. The reason is that most shelters are space limited in terms of numbers of beds, which in turn means that a woman or her children usually have to be at significant risk in order to qualify for intake.

That said, the local police will be able to put you in touch with domestic abuse advocates whose job it is to know what all of the resources available are, and those advocates will assist you in getting out of an unsafe situation.

My two kids and I lived in a DVS Domestic Violence Shelter for 3 months. They didn't help with the moving but the salvation army or you local mission would be willing to help for just a small fee and they have the trucks too. Dump him at a local inpatient rehab and out of your life.

i imagine adult men struggle through a great deal from the masculine fable that being a guy skill having administration of a woman and that limits their view of abusive circumstances. If a woman bodily abuses a guy, i wager he'd do not forget that. yet what about different abuses, like women those who use adult men for his or her money in substitute for the promise of sex? Or different halves who will in hardship-free words artwork section time and in hardship-free words use their sales on themselves with out contributing to the kin? Or women those who continuously browbeat their adult men and degrade them verbally? Or decorate the abode in basically female flavor?
