If you don't have experience with stallions, don't get one.

You need to realize how stallions work, they are social creatures by habit. They are very emotional animals. With lots of Testorne. I worked on a ranch in Wyoming where their breeding studs were let out with the geldings, during the summer.during the winter they were all let out to pasture(including mares)
The studs were not hard to handle and worked just like everyone had to.

First off a stud is not that much different than a gelding except fot the flact that he still has his manhood.. Ok You really need to keep him seperate from mares til you want to bread them. Other than that just take care of him like you would any other horse. They can get attitudes but you need toshow him who is boss. Bottom line dont let him get his bluff in on you.. Good Luck

P.S. Relax it is just a horse we had a stud and they are really not as big of a deal as everyone makes it out to be... Main thing keep seperated from female when he drops....

Have you ever had a horse before? you take care of a stud just the same as a gellding, just one thing you need to watch a little more is studs seem to get wax beens in the folds of their penis more often than geldings because of the fact they hang more than geldings.

this all going to depend on the temperment of your stud....some studs will be a handful while others are very easy to handle....if you are going to keep them around other horses I would suggest hot wire around his pen for his safety and the other horses.....If this is your first horse please get a more experienced horseperson to assist you.....unless he is proven to throw color and has good bloodlines have him gelded and both of you will be happier.....no matter how well behaved he is always remember he is a stud and it is your responsibility to keep him in control at all times!!!!!

they are not that much different to take care of. i have a thoroughbred stud and a aqha stud. they are race horses. just keep them feed and groomed and excurse they and he'll be fine. and keep him in a different pen then mares till it is time you want to breed them.

Never go into his pen when you are having that time of the month. (if you are female) during that time, have someone else care for him. I made that mistake once, and once is all it takes.
