My computer has stopped burning cd's. I can transfer songs onto my mp3 player and I can rip a cd or play a cd or game. I have never had to deal with this prob before, but was told that my driver (writer) has probably gone out. Can anybody tell me how to check this and if I need to install a new one. If so, how do I do that? Thanks!!

You can check it in control panel under sounds and multi media and see if the drivers still there. I had to do this once but can't quite recall the proceedure but I know you can just click on it and it will reinstall itself. Go to www.allexperts.com and in the selection area you will find computers. Click on it and you will go to another area where you can select your problem area and contact an expert. They will then give you step by step instruction exactly what to do---FOR FREE!!! I use it all the time and it's a great service to mankind! Hope this sheads some light for you.
