Seriously! Everyone expects me to get straight A's just because I ended middle school with a 3.7, and I can't possibly get close to that now! Every day, I get 3-5 hours of hours of homework, not including the typed projects which they expect us to do, and give us too little time to finish. I'm losing sleep over finishing this stuff, and I think I'm losing my mind now! All this crap is affecting my performance in class, and now my grades are suffering. How do I deal with the pressure, and get out of this mess?

I have the same situation in high school, that time I wish when I slept, I never woke up. Pressure after pressure, but youre lucky at this generation, you have computers and internet. Information is just a desk away.
The best thing to do, as I always do, is plan. Plan your study, homework, and lessons. I will not matter if you go about one topic ahead of your lessons. Put in each day your activities and try to see how many free hours you got. What time youre going to sleep and what time you should wake up. These things is crucial as you are growing up. That pressure will make you a better and functual person. Organizing yourself is the only step and you must start now!

first off dont worry about what other people expect of you. you could be the best and the brightest and still someone will think you can do better. next take a deep breath, try and work on things in school, and remember C's get degrees. finally, if you think the pressure is on now, just wait. Find a hobby or something that helps you relax. If you stress too much or try to push it too hard you'll just make things worse.

Well give yourself a little bit of a break here. High School is a whole different thing than middle school.. you need time to adjust.. You may have to back out of some of the groups or sports until you get used to doing the amount of home work that they are giving out.. Acutally school is out at 3:30 in most schools. even if you come home and wait until after your evening meal , your home work should only keep you up until about 10 pm. Just relax.. if your grades do go down just a little bit you will adjust and be back at the high grades again and you will learn how to get your work done more efficiently and then you will have time for friends and tv. or what ever else is fun to do in the evenings.
even if you are up until 11pm. still gives you about 8 hours sleep before you have to get up and go to school.. to much sleep is worse than not getting enough sleep..
relax you will get back in the groove of things.
You worry to much.. things will turn out alright. your family time and friend time will have to come between your getting out of school and after your evening meal then off to studying and getting rest for the night. good luck. you sound pretty smart you will figure out a time schedule.

All you can do is do your best. Don't risk your health in order to get good grades. Remember that it will pass. If you are taking too many hard classes then drop one of them. You can always make it up later. The road is long and the only person you are competing with is yourself. Good luck. And, please, smell some roses along the way!

For a high school student you write well. To answer your question, however, just don't sweat the small stuff. Ignore anything that's not important to your schoolwork. It seems you're getting bored. Try more challenging projects.
