Great to hear positve comments about our home away from home. (Canadians) We live on the hill overlooking Holetown, so it is one of our evening haunts. Always something happening - tho may not get started till later in the evening.

We prefer to stop by a local rum shop... that is where you get to know the locals - once you figure what they are saying. Just listen hard, they have their own way of speaking, and get the real Bajan food at a really good price.

The island is so small, with an excellent bus service - public and then the more dareing private yellow buses, that you are not confined to the west coast, which is definately quieter than the south coast - where you will find more action.

You do not mention age but I'll assume on the younger side?
Put St Lawrence Gap on your list ( south coast )
and the Boat Yard, in Bridgetown for all day & night fun activities.

Reefs on the west coast are also the best for snorkeling ... "Janie" could not remember the drive thru name - that would be Cheffette and there is an awesome reef just off their parking lot that we snorkle all the time.

If you do not have access to a car I would recommend you rent a mini moke for at lewast one day and drive to the east coast and North Point. Very worthwhile.

Also, there are a couple of tour company's... Safari , Adventureland... that provide a fun day with lots of rum punch.

What ever you do, come and enjoy - eat Flying fish, Banks beer and be careful with the rum punch - it carries a punch!

We stayed in Holetown, theres a couple of great bars and restaurants on the main road. There was a pizza place called pizazz and a drive-through place but cant remember the name. The bars were around this area too.
There was a great bar on the beach, always something going on, this was in the same area as the drive through place (obviously behind it though, on the beach!).
Has anyone mentioned Oistins to you? Go on a friday evening, you can get a local bus (but taxi back if late), ask about it when you're there, its an amazing night out.
If you ask around you are bound to find something to do, we had loads of great nights out. But we just tagged along with people some nights, so I couldnt tell you where we went.

Also, in the day (trips etc..) I really recommend the catamaran, we had a great day. Also the "pirate ship" (??), not usually my kind of thing but again had a great day.
The people are great, you will have a great time!!!

It's a great place, I loved it and am hoping to go next year!!!

There is a great pub in Holetown along the seafront which has a steel band twice a week and its the place to be for music and dancing. Felt a bit intimidated when I first walked in but the locals are so friendly and used to go there whenever the bands were playing.
