This dead beat father was in jail for drugs, probation violation and back due child support. Released from jail, no payment on support, $23,500 past due. Governor of Oklahoma can't help. Judge let him go. 800 hot line didn't seem to do much. So who do you go to? This is in Delaware County, Jay, Oklahoma

I've seen people walk out of courtrooms as free people with $80,000 owed in back child support - putting them in jail does not erase the child support deficit. These people game the system - pure and simple. If he's in contempt, he won't pay, he does not work and sells drugs - contact the DEA or FBI and see if they can garnish his Maxima, his mother's house or anything else. Any child support arrearage over $10,000 becomes a federal offense - not many people know that....

If they already jailed him for back due child support, then I believe he doesn't owe anything to you anymore. His incarceration = the money owed. How can he pay you back when he was in jail? Drugs....yeah your never getting paid back. And considering you said he's a deadbeat...where is he getting 23K? Where? If he has no assets, then basically you're screwed. But if he does a judgment should be already issued and you can probably have the government take his stuff and auction them for your money.

Get a family law attorney. Support orders are generally enforceable like a civil judgment, so you should be able to do a wage garnishment and whatever else might be allowed under the laws of your state. It is your support order and it is up to you to enforce it.
