George Headley batting for the West Indies against England at Sabina Park in Kingston scored 223 off 385 balls in 390 minutes in the 4th innings of the 4th Test in April 1930.

This was actually a "timeless" test which was spread over the course of 8 days, so George would have been batting on the sixth and seventh days of the match (there was no play on the 8th and final day).

The highest in a 5 day test was Nathan Astle batting for New Zealand against England in the 1st Test in March 2002 at Jade Stadium, Christchurch. He scored 222 off 168 balls in 231 minutes in an inning which included 11 sixes. (Note : George Headley did not score any sixes in his innings).
