It's been a long time.

People lived their lives under the watchfull eyes of Big Brother through a two way TV set. There were rules and you followed them or got into trouble from Big Brother.

Sounds a little like today, with our E-mails and Phone records looked at by Government without court orders or oversight, with lazer devices that can hear us talk by window vibrations, by cameras on the road that catch you going 45 in a 35 zone and send you a ticket by mail.

Love and sex are basially taboo and it's about two people finding each other and finding a different way of life without Big Brother and in spite of Big Brother.

They get caught, re-educated, but find each other at the end, however things can't be for them and they know it and walk away to re-join life in the drearly little world of Big Brother.

Brave New World by Huxley is scarier. IT's sort of a black comedy.
