Chromosomes: A combination of X and Y denotes male characteristics, while an XX pair results in the birth of a girl, since sperm contains either the X or the Y chromosome and the ova only the X sex is governed by the sperm, so in reality there is nothing you can do to decide your baby sex, I'm a student in the very last year of medical school in a university in Florida, I wish you luck in have a girl..☺

Zygote, embryo, and fetal sex is determined from conception, when the sperm enters the egg. Sperm contain either an XY set of sexual chromosomes, or an XX set. The XY's swim faster and are less influenced by mucosal ph and uterine changes, while the XX's live longer, thus the timing advantages for selecting sex of the fetus. Any zygote/fetus will be influenced by the amount of maternal estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone circulating within the maternal environment, but sexual genitalia per se is not changed from XXto XY or vice versa. It is indeed the male sperm that determines the sex of the fetus. It's pretty basic genetics.

Nothing you can do... eating certain foods is an old wives tale. The sex is determined at the time of conception. Just pray you have a healthy baby.

It's too late, but next time remember females are acidic and males are slightly less acidic than females. You can either douche with vinegar for a girl or baking soda for a boy or do some other similar thing that will affect your pH. If you don't beleive me that male and female pH is different you can ask your doctor or lab technician. That having been said it isn't a guaranteed method, but outside of technical or medical assistance it is the most accurate and most likely to work.

I read that having sex 2-3 days before ovulation would help in having you conceive a girl, since the sperm that determines the female sex is stronger than the sperm that determines a male. Therefore, it lives longer in your system and can fertilize the egg. I hope this made sense.

There are positions when TTC that give a better chance of a boy or girl, but these are not scientific. Once you are pregnant, it is too late.

Just old wives tales. Be satisfied with what you get and love him/her anyway. Nothing you can do. It's already been decided by the one above.
