What is the going on here the last two winters have been much colder than average way too much to be a mere coinicidence. We deserve an explanation for this.I remember hearing many years ago that the russians had developed a method were they could send their cold weather to us.Maybe volcanic activity could be a cause but there is no way you could call this incredibly cold weather normal.

If we didn't have variations in temperature the planet would be a very different place - you could even argue that life may not have evolved at all (although tidal movements would probably have done the job), without the variations we'd have no weather, so no rain, so no life on dry land. Enjoy kicking up the leaves and just think it's now closer to summer than it was last month :-)

Because just as we have to take the rough with the smooth sometimes in life, the same is true of the weather - only it is the opposite way round when applied to weather - We have to take the smooth with the rough (The smooth being the months of June, July and August as it is winter for the remaining 9 months of the year)

Because the Earth is not more tilted from the sun and receiving a less intense spread of the suns energy.
Therefore it receives less direct heat and cannot heat up to the temperatures observed in summer.
Philosophically, its nice to have a change; you also wouldn't appreciate the hot summer weather if you didnt have this chilly winter time.
Also, its the hottest Autumn on record so far, so quit complaining and enjoy it - put a coat on :)

its not cold cos of global warming before cars was invented in the ice age we had proper winters and mammoths but then Queen Victoria died in 10000 bc and the cars warmed it all up so we had to build the channel tunnel to go to France now to get cheap booze

I love it! It's a chance for all those lovely animals to hibernate...if we didn't have winter, they would simply die off. I love watching the leaves fall off the trees, and then watch my children kicking them around. Conker fights! The chance to go shopping for a lovely pair of boots and a cosy coat. It's getting closer to Christmas...imagine eating a Christmas dinner in the hot weater! And you look forward to summer so much more. Autumn is simply great.

So it will snow and we can make Snowmen and throw snowballs and slide down hills on cardboard and, and, well, have fun!
Also, Santa's sleigh needs snow for easy take off. He can take off without the snow, but, it slows him down some and we want him coming fast as he can.
