The grain in the lino is dirty, however it is washed daily with dettol, cleaner. Has been down about 9 months and shows dirt in the areas walked on most recently i.e at the back door. Any advice much appreciated.

Using dettol daily has probably stripped the top layer off the lino, making it harder to keep clean as the dirt will grip to the lino.
Clean it with a scrubbing brush and hot soapy water to remove the dirt, then apply some floor polish. The polish will coat the lino, making it easier to keep clean.

You can buy special laminate cleaner and special mops, they really do work the best in my experience. You have to be careful what you put on it, cos some products can work their way through, thus causing the wood to swell.
