Hmm, I think I agree. Why do they award people who are already paid £10 billion to do their job then make a programme out of it where they are allowed to sit around, drinking champagne they haven't paid for and eating food they haven't paid for and slap each other on the back?
Why not make awards to people who risk their lives to save others and give them the free nosh and make a programme about them instead?
The NTVA could have been a quick e-mail to whoever, 'Well done, you turned up for work and did an acceptable job of it. Keep up the good work. And by the way, the outrageous amount of money that we were going to spend on the award ceremony and the statuette that you were going to put in your downstairs lavvy we've actually put to saving the planet, all UK hospices, rehoming all homeless people and finding a cure for cancer, and we still had enough left to buy a copy of the lastest Hello magazine to see you in it'?
A much better idea.

I do not think there is anything wrong with Dr Who or Deal or No Deal getting the awards it is the Big Brother/Eastenders/Ant and flippin Dec I get cross with. All programmes come on prior or at the time you have to vote so they are fresh in memory and Eastenders will put a good story up just before and during voting happens every year.
Catherine Tate robbed again by the looks of it.

so dr who, deal or no deal and tennant and piper won? well, frankly, i couldn't care less really. thank god i didn't have the misfortune of sitting through those 2 hours of boredom and sheer dross. though it makes me wonder why we have a national tv awards ceremony, seeing as tv nowadays in britain is nothing but a pile of crap. as far as to who won what, i'm not that bothered at the least. and the majority of awards ceremonies are a waste of time, anyway. i'm glad you feel the same way as me on this

"Popular" indicates chosen by the masses rather than on any particular criteria.
Hence why an appallingly-written and badly-acted programme such as Eastenders has won an award.

Nice to know that Noel Edmonds got an award at last - he lost out to Jonathan "Wossy" Ross last year, so he deserves to get something.
