hmmm.....where does lola my sister get these thought provoking questions from? Is there a big book that only she owns called "Big book of thought provoking questions?"

To be ignored is almost like not being loved. It hurts. I don't like being ignored but yet I'm kinda shy so I don't like attention being drawn to me. Strange.

Truthfully, I want to be loved but if I had to choose I would rather be despised. At least when people despise/hate me I know where i stand with them.......and being despised always brings the possibility of someone getting past that and seeing me as I am and eventually loving or at least liking me.

For the most part, to be loved(except in some cases of course) is to eventually be despised. The possibility always exists, and usually comes to fruition that love will turn to hate. Love can turn to hate rather quickly: when I don't meet the expectations of the other, when I say something that triggers some issues they harbor inside, and they project their "stuff" on to me,tc. What most ppl call love is very fragile and fickle. It can turn to indifference and even hate very quickly.

I'm comfortable just being accepted totally and completely, and I'm lucky to have that by a select few. Loved is great, despised is clear, ignored is painful, accepted is bliss.

Great question, lola. I'm loving your questions as of late. Now go get that book and post some more! LOL.

Well, I'm 50 years old now, so that depends entirely on what time of the month it is! Truly. Just 5 years ago, I would have said that I have more comfort in being with someone and being loved. Today, I don't mind being ignored if I happen to need extra space.
As far as being despised? Well, I'm sure with my overly opinionated opinion, there are a few who despise me....And "I" them. Haha! It all balances out somehow....depending on my hormone level, or lack of.

I am more comfortable being ignored. it gives me that chance to be myself and not live up to the hopes and dreams of others.

If people ignore you then they can;t place unrealistic expectations on you that they do not place on themselves. People always want you to be a better you then they are themselves.

When you are ignored you are allowed to grow and mature without others interference

In terms of scope of being useful to others, the three states definitely affords comfort.
But to the self, ideally it should not matter, because society has evolved to the extend that material needs are not individual dependent any more !

I'm more comfortable being ignored, because being loved is not simple and it involves more effort.

Ignored.
I can just be comfortable being myself without trying to live up to others expectations of me.

i'm most confortable being ignored. i usually feel stress from too many people calling me, or demanding my time. so, i keep a very few friends. i just feel too busy taking care of my life to really have time for many other people.
