....If you read the screenplay book of the film it states he's a ghost, now if this is true where is the missing chapter in the films where he actually dies?

I wonder if he was a ghost all the time, and simply appeared solid so he could contact and teach Luke, and then, when it came time to face Vader, he simply reverted to his incorporeal state before Vader's saber could land its blow. It IS inconclusive as to whether Vader actually scored a hit before Kenobi's robes fall to the floor, empty.

Of course, he'd have to be a mighty solid ghost to wreak the damage he did in the Cantina in Mos Eisley, wouldn't he? An interesting question though!

The Jedi believed in "the force" so when you think Darth vadar kills him in the "new hope" obi won actually just becomes part of the force. When vadar strikes him with his light saber, the cloak falls to the ground and obi won's body isn't there. He disappeared taking his spirit to the force. They talk about doing this in the first star wars when they are discovering the young Anikan.
So yes he (obi won) becomes part of the force in (iv) because he is actually more powerful in the force.

Errr... He dies in chap 4 - the new hope, about half way through when he is killed on the deathstar. He is then a ghost for the rest of it, including when he tells Luke to sue the force instead of aiming and destroy the deathstar at the end of the film.

He can't have been a ghost. What would have been the point in the jedi mind trick if he could just do something more ghostly to sneak past people? I'll stick with the death in the film as the real one.

Nope, Darth Vader killed him in a fight on the Death Star near the end of Episode IV.

He died in episode IV because Alec Guiness didn't want to be included in the sequels.
