ooh this is a good one! i think men are less as they have a constant need to be reassured of their pulling power no matter what age they are, women are more comfortable in themselves

I think it's mostly the way you were brought up. Constantly people are saying 'my other half', therefore meaning there's only one person for them. Tv shows/movies always makes the characters choose between the people they have feelings for, telling us that having more than one partner is wrong. Monogamy (western culture) is also learnt through religion, and although some may not be especially religious, history has already integrated this rule into their culture.

respect for partner and self control
if these are not found, then momogomy is not found
nature vs nurture, fear vs grateful, jocks vs nerds, man or woman does not matter
monogomy is a choice like any other
(i believe it's the right choice)
God bless :)

I was once shocked when watching Discovery or Wild Kingdom or one of those shows to learn that in the animal world only 20% of the animals are monogomus!
Animals, it would seem, have friends or acquantences and lots of sex without commitment.
There is no need for pairing, sharing, coupling or a significant other.

women are more monogamous than men. God commanded man to multiply, not add; thus men have the drive to nail as many as possible. God didn't say stop yet, so that's why men keep on going, and going, and going (energizer battery rabbits).
