It is because we have thought and a consciense as well as ego, that there will always be conflict of some sort. There will always be good and evil as long as there are humans. All it takes is for one bad apple to rot the bunch.

No, like good and bad everything, evil is a part of human nature, sadly. But I agree with what others have said - it is necessary so that we appreciate what we have. I know that those of us who have experienced evil in our lives would appreciate complete peace but our children wouldn't know the difference. How would we know what was good if we didn't know what was bad? If you believe in heaven, perhaps there would be no evil there. Appreciation is born from an understanding of the different circumstances in life - what it is like to have something, what it is like to go without it, what it is to understand what people have been through. I would love to see what the world would be like but even having lived only 22 years I can't imagine a world without evil.

It's a nice dream that one day all evil thoughts could be eradicated - but, sadly, as long as human beings walk this earth evil will prevail.
However, there is a huge difference between thinking and doing.

Living in harmony may be possible for humans.
But cessation of all evil in all humans is impossible.
But for individuals evils do cease to exist on individual basis.

no people that are evil will always be amongst us. We will never live in harmony or utopia that is a myth and the sooner we realize it the summer that we can try and get along

Don't wish for it. It will come when all the good is dead so that there will be nothing to compare the evil to. Evil is necessary to show that there is another way as well.

this world we live in must have a balance or it will go in a chain reaction.there must be a balance of dark and light.good and evil.its the belief in taoism.
