George Harrison funded Life of Brian for the sole reason (in his words) because "he wanted to see the film".
He has a cameo role as Mr. Papadopolous, the man who Reg says is going to lend them the mount next weekend (in the scene where the crowd is in Brian's house after he's just spent the night with Judith). Its a blink and you miss it role, but he does say "hello" in his destinctive accent if you listen for it.

George Harrison. He founded HandMade Films in 1978 and put his money into such productions as Monty Python's Life of Brian, and the 1980 film Time Bandits.

This is easy, it was Beatle George Harrison. George loved Monty Python, and I have to tell you, their work has held up well.

george harrison, he invested in it when the intended sponsor pulled out due to the films controversial nature. He made a nice packet out of being the sponsor. He also has a small part in it blink and you will miss it
