I think that Christmas is a good time for all the "fast cash now" snakes to come crawling out of the grass when what people really need to do is to work out a budget. Work out what extra cash you have without going broke and then make a list of everyone you have to buy for. Kids are easy, they are usually happy with something interesting and those expensive battery operated toys which are heavily advertised will be long forgotten by January. Pound shops are great for candles, colouring books and garden stuff which will please most people. It's so sad seeing people go into debt to try to live up to the commercial idea of what they are supposed to be buying. Christmas should be about spending time with those you love and no amount of money can compensate for spending a lovely afternoon dressed up for the cold kicking leaves through the park together and going home to make home made hot chocolate with marshmallows and watching a family film together.

Well I'm not loaded but not skint either. I shall buy within my budget - pay cash and not on plastic and enjoy the traditions of christmas like roasted chesnuts, family together, pretend sleigh bells for the grand children etc. I certainly dont need any get rich quick scams - Christmas is what you make it and not all about the commercialism and money - thats what has ruined christmas for years x

Are you offering cash for Christmas? I would love some , thanks. Seriously , I have just been off work with my back and am returning to work to try and get some extra cash for the festive season. If I didnt I would be pretty skint too.

I always am that's why I start my Christmas shopping in January in the sales !! Bargains galore !!
I then pick up bits throughout the year and then I don't have to find all this money at the end of the year for Christmas presents and I don't end up battling the crowds for the last few bits in the shops on Christmas Eve !!

Me is or I should say "our" santa is. Problem is its hard to explain to a six and eight year old that someone as magical amd mystical as father christmas has no money!! Roll on when the myth is dispelled for them, I don't mean that harshly and woul;d never tell them myself but its easier to say mummy and daddy skint!!! lol

All I want for Christmas is. . . more money? Or at least for the family to be happy and healthy and together. Good thing I haven't set my children's standards too high!
