what is spoken tells me of what the mind is thinking, but, it's what is left unspoken that tells me who the person really is. the spirit or the soul revels itself in the gestures, emotions which show in the eyes, expressions of the face, and touch of the hands.

Understanding between two can be achieved through communication. Silence itself is a communication, saying I'm not ready yet to speak of it, or it's still too much, or fear is present. When that happens, it's the gentle word that heals the silence, when you make the space you say it in safe enough for the one who is hearing your words to accept. The spoken can help you convey your feelings, the unspoken can only be heard by the heart.

A touch......a glance........a gesture...a touch....these things are seen by those with the eyes to see it. Also, the eyes can also speak for the person's soul. The light you see sometimes in the eyes or face.......
All these things speak directly from the heart and soul: where language cannot reach and words are not needed. Only silence and love is needed for this kind of language.
A beautiful question.

It's the size and quality of the gap that is, infinitely the most important. This gap, rather unfortunately, frequently remains unfathomable, causing differences in perceptions of the people concerned, which further lead to problems in communication, resulting, consequently, in squabbles, altercations and confrontations of different degrees.

Many times, surprisingly enough !
If we are a bit 'loose' within ourselves, our own thoughts, we find just 'catching' the thoughts of others, and either speaking it out or acting it out, much to the pleasant surprise of others.

yes, most of the time, but NOT always it depends on the situation.
If someone does not want to talk about a certain subject it could be because it's a sensitive subject to them OR
because they know others might not agree & get upset .
I just leave it @ that.
take care

Actually both.
There's tons of stuff that should be left un-said. Too bad many folks 'miss' that opportunity.
