The LS is great value for money. You get a diesel sedan at the price of a mid-range Getz. Like any other diesel it needs to be maintained well. This means regular checks and minor replacements which don't happen in petrols. Don't expect any great driving pleasure though. It is a direct injection diesel, but power before the turbo kicks in is very little so the vehicle feels heavy and sluggish. Once you are on a highway or you can floor the pedal to a high RPM, the vehicle will feel like an airplane. Suspension is best in class, except that there is a little body roll.

I presume that you are referring to the diesel version (TDI LS).

I don't own one myself but my friend is using that since one year and has no problem with it.

More over he uses it on rough terrains of Mangalore which is also a coastal district without a problem.
