Why are the OZ & UK authorities so terrified of upsetting Muslims (who do seem to upset easily)?

Now they want equal right to rape?
Foreign criminals should serve a harsher sentences.
This is the only way to stop importing the criminal element.
Look at the UK now, full of foreign criminals milking the Social Security system, Getting free treatment on the NHS, Free housing etc.etc.

THERE CAN BE NO RIGHTS WITHOUT RESPONSIBILITY, FOR MOST OF THESE, TO HAVE PAID INTO THE SYSTEM.

In most Muslim countries the authorities are not very good at accommodating Westerners' culture (at least in public), why shouldn't the UK & OZ adopt a similarly intolerant approach. The UK & OZ is not an Islamic country and never will be so if their religion really is so important to them and they don't like western society, culture and values, why don't they relocate to an Islamic country where they would be happier.

If you had you would have felt how unfair the system is.
I challenge you to produce figures on percentage of 'UK born criminals' and 'non-UK born, Muslim criminals'.
I do not condone any crime but majority of the UK population would have more sympathy towards 'UK born criminals' than 'non-UK born, Muslim criminals'.

labour won't do much because they were voted in - jack straw pays more attention to them in his surgeries than he does the whites - we once got dissed by him so that an asian person could speak to him.

I think they should not be segregated - by keeping themselves in little corners part of me thinks that the are racist towards us. Integration is the key and they should speak our language and adopt some of our culture (the bit with morals etc) rather than trying to turn britain into an islamist state.

to answer your main question why aussie and uk government have a softly softly approach is that we have seen what happened to the twin towers in america in 2001 and are scared of a repeat episode - also we had the 7/7/05 scare in london with the bombings. some of these imigrants are bad people who do not need upsetting. although some are peace- loviing too (i am not a racist but i like to keep an open mind about these things)

I do believe however that if they commit crimes and are not born of this country they should be deported and that goes for any ethnic background/ country ( including eastern europeans who are not muslim) We should not tolerate that sort of behaviour/ criminal activity and they should be notified re: this on their immigration papers!!!

Actually Pal - it seems that the louder you shout - the more you are heard. Forget the Muslims - Look at the Gujrati's who came to this country from Uganda in the early 70's integrated - kids did well, did not cause a fuss and really contributed to this country - Because the good ones don't rant and rave they are ignored.
The same goes for the racists - they hold extremist views therefore they rant and rave and get heard - the majority of us who are quiet and get on with life contributing and trying to build a better society just get ignored.
May be we should boot out anyone who does not want to contribute ( but is capable) -all the extremist - religious and racial - put them all on a single island and rid the world of a big headache.

a lot of them are scared while somebody exposes something debatable approximately Islam. as an occasion somebody says you hate on apostates. The Muslim asks for evidence. The Muslims is given from the Hadith it says in Bukhari fifty two:260 "...The Prophet mentioned, 'If somebody a Muslim discards his faith, kill him.'' some Muslims gets all comfortable then i ask your self do those Muslims no longer know their own e book. Muslims oppose something or every person that exposes something debatable and surprising of their faith. because of the fact it skill they should re-evealuate issues, some can't get out of Islam. they're compelled to consider their own oppression.

And what about all the UK born, non Muslim criminals who make up 88% of all those in jail? How very inconsiderate of them to take up space at tax payers' expense.

What about all the UK born criminals who were/are currently living abroad, milking their systems for all it's worth? The Great Train Robbers, Kenneth Noye, Gary Glitter.....the list continues.

Why don't we re-patriate all the non-UK born, Muslim criminals and accept back all the UK born criminals? Oh, hang on, we haven't got enough prison spaces to accommodate all of them.

What about the UK born, non Muslim layabouts who have never done a day's work in their life, but pop out kids like there's no tomorrow, sit around smoking weed and playing on computer games all day and claiming thousands in benefits? Are they any better than the non-UK born, foreign criminals?

mt. This Govt, like a lot of them, are not infallible. They make mistakes. But to consider that Britain has not be lenient and accommodating to Muslims and other cultures is also a mistake. What other country would offer immediate free health, build mosques, offer free housing, education and pay for visiting imams?! I cant get funding for my postgraduate research but a very tall Pakistani women gets £40 a week, a house and health care because she got picked on?

Multiculturalism is great but it relies on every group working together and integrating. That's not going to happen. Best we can hope for is that everyone is dealt with fairly.

I think what you are seeing with OZ & UK authorites is the last dying gasp of muliculturalism. Recent comments by Howard and Straw indicate that the mood towards accomidating muslims at every turn is starting to change. In regard to this issue, I think we are very near a "tipping point" in western culture. One more major terroristic attack in the western world set things off.

There is a lot to be said in response to your question, but I just wanted to bring up a point, why don't all catholics relocate to the Vatican City if muslims should do the same? Australia and UK do not have a dominant religion, the societies there are based more on "multiculturalism".
